After carving around way below coping on the U, I was fearing for my life. My only hope was that a huge game of SKATE would break out on the flat and that would be my excuse to bow out. Nope. Instead, I ducked and hid behind my camera like a frightened turtle. At least I have some pictures to show for it. We should do this every week. Check out Tuesdays at the U. I joined in on the, "Yeah let's pad up and skate the vert ramp" talk yesterday thinking I could at least fakie rock and maybe frontside grind. Then I went and shot this photo just now. Yikes. I don't know about all that.

When you ride your skateboard, no matter how hot it is, please put a shirt on. Especially if you're filming and especially if you're going to send the footage to a stranger to decide if you can be in some skateboard contest. Thanks.

This time around, quite a few people correctly predicted all the most popular picks in the Foundation Giveaway that just ended. That's not so easy with these sketchy questions. Would you guess that 444 people out of 648 would rather have a skateboard job than a porno job? Given the choice of getting paid with no hating versus hating all day and being broke as a joke, nearly 90% (574 people) of you picked getting paid and not hating. I would have guessed the other way around on that. Hating is fun. The questions with a homosexual undertone are always hard to call. 429 of you would rather have a free deck than learn a new trick, but only 258 (40%) would give yourself a Dirty Sanchez to win the giveaway. Hmm, if I was a broke ass razor tail rider, I'd probably opt for the Sanchez. Maybe do the ol' stinky pinky so it's less painful? I'm getting all nerdy on you again. This time, it's a report spanning six years worth of board sales data from the Shop. I broke each board company down by year and calculated the percentage change in their sales based on the prior year. If you're a skateboard bid'niss man, a numbers geek, or plain old skate nerd, you might find it interesting: Captain Corporate's Deck Sales Analysis. I wish I had what it takes to be a musician, but unfortunately, I got stuck with a math nerd brain. Dean Guitars contributed a few guitars as Tampa Pro prizes this year. Fuel TV is doing a live webcast of Tampa Pro in HD on Sunday, March 22 at noon Eastern Time. You can check out the show they did for Tampa Am 2008 in HD also. They also have a four minute piece on the history of SPoT.

It's the same story with everyone and now it's happening to us. We have to start some economic cutbacks. Let's see, what should be the first to get cut? How about a gargantuan U-shaped structure that maybe 5 people a week actually give us $6 to ride their skateboard on? Makes total bid'niss sense, huh? Nevermind, we are resurfacing the whole thing.
